    James "Mac" McMillan joined us at City Council on Wednesday, September 10th as a WWII veteran to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. This has been a process we have adopted to honor our veterans, especially the WWII vets, whose numbers are dwindling.

  • 10th Ward Welcomes Mariano’s Grocery

    Alderman John Pope joined Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Governor Pat Quinn, and Robert A. Mariano, Chairman, President and CEO of Mariano’s in announcing a new Mariano’s grocery store that will be built on the former site of the South Works steel mill, now known as Chicago Lakeside, at the intersection of 87th Street and S. Lake Shore Drive.

The Ward Chicago’s 10 th Ward is located on the southeast corner of the city.  Located approximately 10 miles south of downtown Chicago, the 10 th Ward is bordered by 82 nd Street to the north, the Chicago city limit to the south, Lake Michigan and the Indiana border to the east, and the Bishop Ford Expressway to the west.
